Philadelphia street artist King Saladeen unveiled his first hometown mural in the neighborhood of West Philadelphia on June 8th. The mural was commissioned by Mural Arts Philadelphia and used local artists and workers from the community to bring it to life. The mural features Saladeen and his late friend JP – the person who most inspired him to become a full-time artist – with the Philadelphia skyline in the background, on what Saladeen calls the best day of his life. Saladeen regularly honors JP in his work through his famous “JP The Money Bear” logo, which features in this mural as well.
