Rather than a place that encourages low self-esteem and lack of appreciation for the Black natural hair, Salon Conversations is a place of acceptance, belonging and most importantly, vital conversations on social issues.
Using old newspapers, several keywords have been incorporated into this masterpiece. The young man's shirt is comprised of headlines regarding youth development, adolescent involvement and the issue of child marriage.
The hairdresser is a symbol of women in the hair grooming space in Africa. Her headscarf is composed of keywords and headlines on the issue of feminism - a social topic close to the artist's heart.
The presence of a male and female in the salon is a representation of equality and coexistence in the salon/barbershop settings. 
It is not just a place that caters for Black hair but the Black Mindset.
