Game Of Kings

Game Of Kings

My dad taught me how to play chess when I was a little boy. On a small wooden chessboard, he would make me and my older brother play against him. I don’t ever remember winning, so it makes sense why I stopped playing at a young age. In the last couple of years, the game of chess has made a comeback in my life, and today I love playing chess. I don’t play often, but from time to time you can catch me playing on my chess app or against a homie. Despite my love for the game, I’ve never had the courage to play in public. Like most things in this city, New York doesn’t play around with chess. The thought of getting schooled by a Chess Hustler has been too much for my stubborn pride to stomach. Maybe one day I will build up the nerve to challenge them to a match, but until then, I will just leave it up to the pros.
