A Flock Of Seagulls

During the early 2000s, while kids my age were watching Nickelodeon and the Disney Channel, I was watching VH1. In the mornings before school, I would religiously watch the Top 20 Video Countdown. But my favorite show on VH1 at the time was 'I Love the 80s'. The concept was simple: 1-hour episodes where celebrity guest commentators would discuss all the fads, news, music, and culture of a specific year in the 80s. In the prime of early 2000s reality TV, 'I Love the 80s' didn't feel corny or heavily scripted like today's TV; you actually learned something during the episode. Being a 90s baby and a lifelong historian at heart, this show put me on to so much, shaping my taste and helping me understand the world around me at the time. To this day, I have a deep appreciation for the decade that brought the world classics like Tetris, Thriller, Back to the Future, Scarface, and 'I Ran' by A Flock of Seagulls.
