Digital Genius 2

Reflecting on the great experiences provided by my NFT and Metaverse class this year, I can confidently say that the journey has been nothing but fun and interesting. Diving into the depths of creating and minting NFTs was by far one of the coolest aspects of the course. The aspect of turning digital art into a profitable asset gave me a practical overview of the opportunities in the digital economy, which was very educational.

The way we dived into cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum and Bitcoin, along with the intriguing world of DAOs which are Decentralized Autonomous Organizations. I never realized at the beginning of this semester I would be expanding my understanding of how digital currencies and decentralized network’s function. These lessons went beyond the technical aspects, touching on the concepts of sovereign versus non-sovereign digital currencies. This difference between government-backed digital currencies and decentralized cryptocurrencies provided a broad spectrum of knowledge that I really took in to understand the complex landscape of digital finance.

However, the pivotal learning for me was during the creation and minting process of NFTs. Learning about the technicalities of minting NFTs and the strategies to market them effectively for profitable outcomes was awesome. This not only gave me the skills necessary to venture into this digital frontier but also sparked a passion for exploring how these digital assets could be integrated into a universal wallet. The concept of a universal wallet alone was super cool to learn about, being capable of connecting seamlessly with various digital assets and platforms, presents a future where the technology of our daily lives could be way more diverse and open.

The research assignment on a company within the digital marketplace opened up avenues for deeper understanding and personal growth. Studying Moonbirds, who is a big player in the NFT landscape, allowed me to appreciate the ups and downs of what makes an NFT project successful and how these companies position themselves within the Metaverse. This exploration was not only academically fun but also a great exercise in understanding market dynamics and branding in the digital age.

Overall, the class was an incredible journey that did much more than just educate. It was a gateway that led to numerous opportunities for networking, learning, and future creation. As I look forward to the possibilities that lie ahead, I am excited by the prospect of one day not only minting my own NFTs but also becoming an active participant in collecting and trading digital assets. This class has undoubtedly been an anchor in my educational journey, setting the foundation for my involvement in the world of NFTs and the Metaverse.Ng, F. (2022, August 31).
