To celebrate my 60th Birthday I am listing this Open Edition so everyone can celebrate!
This photograph was taken one warm spring evening overlooking the steep-sided dry valley of Scoar Dale in the Yorkshire Wolds, in the UK.
These valleys make up large parts of my local landscape and I have spent over 20 years exploring and finding views that show the wonderful dynamic shapes and beautiful flora.
Created by huge rivers of ice age melt-water cutting deep into the frozen chalk Wolds plateau, they are wonderful places to walk, relax and photograph. Especially as morning or evening light casts a spell, highlighting the twists and angles perfectly.
Cattle graze in the sunlight surrounded by white blossom-covered hawthorn trees, and above all this a field of red campion flowers, grown for pollinators and ground nesting birds.
Undeniably a Peaceful Valley!
