Bare with me, this is going to be a longer description than usual. βπΌπͺπ©πͺπ’π£ ππ§π€π‘π€ππͺπβ πππ«π @ πππ π½ππ¨ππ’ππ£π© is more than just showcasing myself performing live, but also a celebration of my first year in Web3. I wanted to bring something special and the night of Dec. 9th, 2022 was one I will never forget. It meant a lot for several reasons.
I wrote this song Sept. 2020, which was a very dark time in my life. I was dealing with the health scares of my dad and grandma, a recent breakup, not getting a job I worked hard for, and overall depression from the pandemic. Although painful times, I wanted to channel that energy and give hope to anyone going through it.
I vividly remember being 17 and one of my homies being an opener at this show. As much as I loved music, before the concert Iβd never seen live music. I remember buying a ticket and pulling into this venue The Basement on a Saturday afternoon. Still underage, I got a big ass X on my hand. For the next 4 hours, I was blown away by the sounds I heard and by seeing everyone on stage. Donβt let the name fool you, The Basement is one of the premier concert venues in Columbus, OH, and not everyone gets to play there. It took a decade into my career, but on Dec. 9th, 2022 I got to headline and have some close friends on the bill with me. Such a full-circle moment.
The show was emotional for a lot of reasons, but at the end of my set, I legit cried on stage. The moment I broke down was seeing my parents in the crowd and everything hit me at once. I'm blessed to have folks that believe in what I do and support me. Something I donβt take for granted. I canβt wait to change their lives.
Hopefully, you enjoy the performance and take something away from my story!
