This special series features beautiful girls in various kind of Korean traditional oversized hairstyles from the Joseon Dynasty. Each of them in traditional hanbok. These kinds of hairstyle carry their own symbolism like as protection from evil influences and also to portray marital and wealth status. The artwork is an experimental attempt by the artist to combine both traditional (hand drawn inking) as preliminary drawing stage and post-produced with digital rendering. The flowers included are to emphasize the elegance and femininity exudes by the ladies. Immense level of details is put in both the flowers and the portraits. These 5 portraits also are part of artist’s personal 100 heads challenge, they are heads number 85-90 out of 100.
