How To Sell A Music NFT 👀🤘🏾

On March 14th, 2022, I did a DJ set to close out the Zoratopia festival at SXSW in Austin, TX. Much love to Latashá for believing in me to curate the vibes for such an awesome event.

Just before the set started, I minted my genesis Zora music NFT, "Fantasy", and listed it immediately. I created a QR code with the link to the listing and airdropped it to Tara who was running the show visuals.

I asked her to put the "Fantasy" artwork (by Karey Graves) and the QR code on the LED screen behind me. In the middle of the set, I premiered the song for the first time ever. Before the song even ended, I received a bid for 1ETH.

When I got off stage, I was shocked. I had no expectations and just wanted to try something new. I created this TikTok video recapping the experience and the response was unbelievable. The video blew up on Twitter, and started thousands of conversations inside and outside of web3.
It helped onboard more people into the space while showing artists innovative ways to market an NFT. The video is already being shown in university music business classes across America.

Eventually, the term "Live Minting" was coined.

I was not expecting the reaction to this at all. I thought I was doing something cool, but didn't know it would have the impact that it did. More than anything I'm grateful to be a part of the web3 community, and share ways we can continue to move the culture forward.

I promised I would mint this video when it reached 50,000 views on Twitter, and it did! So, I am humbly offering this video to the collectors who have asked.
