Greetings from the S.E.E.D Rhizome!
Dr. Lollipop adjusted his mirrored glasses while updating the year’s records on his holographic datapad. "Another cycle completed," he murmured, watching S.E.E.D's branches flourish in multiple directions. Zé Cyberia, bathed in a strobe of light, smiled and raised an imaginary toast. "Here we are, replanting territories and hacking realities."
The year 2024 began with a cognitive surge. In January, S.E.E.D partnered with the OBJKT marketplace to test its new “curation” tool. Our curatorial team selected a series of artists working on the Tezos blockchain, crafting a digital exhibition that merged aesthetics with technology.
Riding that momentum, we launched Collective Drop V1.0 by S.E.E.D on ZORA, expanding our presence within Web 3. This project introduced a hybrid model of curation and training. Dr. Lollipop, of course, was essential in keeping the gears turning—from negotiations to onboarding new artists into Web 3.
Next came Collective Drop V2.0, where, beyond maintaining our online presence, we brought the experience into IRL (In Real Life). Featuring a physical and digital multi-screen exhibition with performative actions, and ambient soundscapes, the event took place at Casa Nua (São Paulo). It also included an even more dynamic onboarding process for Zora's marketplace, solidifying our rhizomatic approach: locally rooted yet always branching out to the virtual and global.
In the meantime, a night of Cyberia 003: MAINFRAME PROTOCOL took place. Overseen by our entity Zé Cyberia, the event was held at VOID in São Paulo and featured a TV installation showcasing digital works by S.E.E.D members, while DJ sets and performances intertwined rhythms and visuals, creating a festive, sonic, and cyber-ritual experience.
In July, we crossed borders to collaborate with the Argentine collective Bosque Gracias during the S.E.E.D x Bosque Gracias Art Residency São Paulo. We gathered various artists at Galpão Cru, creating a transnational space for creative exchange. The cycle culminated in our Cyberia #04 Party-Method. "Amid audiovisual performances and DJ sets, the collective celebrated the fusion of exhibition and festivity, presenting the AFTERMOVIE as a narrative of the residency experience."
At NFT Brasil 2024, we took the stage with our talk “S.E.E.D: Singularidade Experimental em Devaneio” (Singular Experimental Singularity in Daydream). We shared our philosophy, highlighting how the collective navigates the complexities of Web 3 while keeping its roots firmly planted in the Latin American experience. It was a memorable moment of exchange, reinforcing the rhizomatic spirit of experimentation, DIY ethos, and cooperation across underdeveloped territories.
Later, in October, the rhizome expanded to Belo Horizonte with the S.E.E.D Art Residency Belo Horizonte. Over 20 artists gathered in a space combining collective living and an introduction to the crypto universe. The seeds planted there continue to germinate, fostering new connections and artistic possibilities.
Lastly, continuing our partnership with Rádio Veneno, this year we aired 18 CYBERIA by S.E.E.D programs presented by members and guests, exploring sonic themes in harmony with our rhizome. This year’s collaboration concluded with three live performances held at Veneno’s headquarters, laying the groundwork for new connections and future alliances.
We close 2024 with our eyes already set on 2025. With a steady stream of actions across our local hemispheres, S.E.E.D deeply thanks everyone who joined and participated in our organization’s activities. We extend heartfelt gratitude to every artist, collaborator, entity (real or fictional), and dreamer who united with us in this great integrative processual gesture.
Dr. Lollipop sets the datapad aside and looks at Zé Cyberia. "Time to prepare for the next cycle." The flashing in Cyberia’s eyes reflects a future brimming with energy and infinite possibilities. And so, we move forward—always expanding.
