Darwin, Charles Robert (1809-1882)

British naturalist and traveler. Author of the synthetic theory of evolution and founder of the teaching of "Darwinism". Founder of evolutionary biology.

C. Darwin is also the author of a number of major works on botany, zoology, geology and comparative psychology.
