On Kabosu the Doge’s 17th birthday, it was decided that the international Doge community should band together and build a monument for her. Own The Doge worked with The Dogecoin Foundation, NFD, The Doge Pound and Rainbow Wallet to launch a fundraising campaign.
Nearly $100k was raised from Shibes around the world. The Statue Collective engaged Japanese bronze foundry Takenaka Douki to design and manufacture the statue, and over the next 12 months, they worked closely with Atsuko Sato and the Sakura City Council to ensure everyone was happy with this permanent testament to the Doge’s influence and legacy.
Thanks to the support of all donors, and project managers within The Statue Collective, on Kabosu’s 18th birthday, at 4:20 pm, the statue was unveiled on the first-ever International Doge Day.
The statue was scanned and the file is free and open source forever. It can be used by anyone, anywhere.
However, for 6.9 days, you can mint it as an NFT on Zora’s L2.
Mint now. Much wow.
