Many would reject this candidate not so much on the grounds that it is not a book, but on the grounds that it is not even art, because it was produced more by an algorithm than it was with human creativity. Nonetheless, one could also argue that Tomm’s creativity was a necessary catalyst for the book to be generated. Still, you could see why it’d be annoying if you were, say, Marcel Proust, and all your hard work got dethroned by someone using a random word generator. It is legally considered a book, but seems to carry less status as a “book” than any fanfiction.
