"Great luck"
Letter 1:
June 7, 2024
Mom,
Remember I told you about Dad's old hard drive? Well, Mark and I found a whole fortune on it! Turns out our old man was mining bitcoin and forgot about it. There's a whole fortune there. What luck, huh? We've already started planning how to use this windfall. We'll be able to fix up our ranch! We're still figuring things out, but I think it'll all work out. I've already called the lawyer; he should help us withdraw the money.
With love,
Dan

Mom,
Something strange is happening. Mark has been acting really weird lately, like he's gone crazy! He keeps talking only about bitcoins, and his thoughts revolve only around that. He says we can't trust the lawyer, that we can't trust anyone anymore! I'm starting to worry about him.

Mom,
Mark is becoming dangerous. He's losing control. Yesterday he almost attacked me over the hard drive when I decided to put it in my safe! Damn lawyer probably will never come to this hole. I have to do something; maybe I'll call a doctor.
Dan

Mrs. Garcia,
I regret to inform you of this, but there has been a tragedy with your boys. Your son, Dan, is gone. I saw everything with my own eyes. As soon as Dan opened the door for me, Mark attacked him with a knife. During the struggle, they broke that damn hard drive. And I saw something I'll never forget. A yellow cloud burst from the hard drive, enveloping the brothers. I can swear something from that cloud made such a dreadful sound, a deadly roar, and it was very, very rough. That sound, oh, that sound, it pierces every cell of my body still. When the smoke cleared, I saw Dan's body on the floor and Mark absolutely frenzied. Foam was coming out of his mouth, he was convulsing, and he kept uttering words in some unknown language to me, and it seemed to me that the same horrible sound started to come out of his mouth. I ran out of the house and called the police. As I know, Mark was taken to Woodlen Mental Hospital. I'm so sorry for you and your sons, what a loss, and all because of some money.
