Backstory:

Gizmo was originally developed as a maintenance bot in a manufacturing facility controlled by the Bio-Corporations. Its primary role was to repair other units, optimize machinery, and perform routine checks to ensure efficiency. But as wars and corporate conflicts escalated, Gizmo’s skill set quickly outgrew its intended function. Recognizing its potential, a resistance engineer secretly upgraded Gizmo’s AI, granting it independence and an insatiable curiosity about the world beyond the factory walls. Now, it operates as an independent engineer and tinkerer, fixing and enhancing anything it finds, always in search of ways to make things better—or, in its words, “perfectly imperfect.”

Gizmo has since become something of a folk hero among the resistance groups in NexaGenesis, traveling from settlement to settlement to offer its skills. It repairs broken tech, repurposes discarded scrap into functioning devices, and even invents small gadgets that give locals an edge in their struggles. Though it never fights directly, Gizmo’s gadgets and enhancements have saved countless lives, earning it the nickname “The Little Miracle Worker.” However, Gizmo doesn’t do this for fame or gratitude. Instead, it’s driven by a genuine love for creation and improvement, constantly seeking new challenges and opportunities to learn.

Special Abilities:

Using nothing but discarded scrap and its knowledge of energy transfusion, it managed to bring the convoy back to life, allowing the fighters to escape just before a Bio-Corporate patrol arrived. Stories of this incident spread, and now it’s common for resistance members to call out, “Gizmo was here!” whenever they encounter miraculously repaired equipment.

Another encounter involved an infiltration mission in a heavily fortified Bio-Corporate outpost. Gizmo was smuggled inside by a small team and, using its jury-rigged genius, created distractions and temporarily disabled security systems, allowing the team to retrieve crucial intelligence. Afterward, Gizmo left behind a single piece of graffiti—a smiley face in neon paint—etched onto one of the outpost’s walls, a calling card that has since become a symbol of hope among rebels.
