Kistefos Museum by BIG
The Kistefos Museum in Jevnaker, Norway, designed by the avant-garde Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), stands as a striking example of contemporary architectural exploration of form.
At first glance, the museum's audacious design commands attention. The building's most remarkable feature is its dramatic twist, a structural innovation that creates a bridge-like form over the Randselva River. This twisted form not only serves as a visual focal point but also facilitates a unique spatial experience, drawing visitors through a continuous flow of indoor and outdoor environments.
The structure's cantilevered sections extend daringly over the riverbank, creating a sense of dynamic tension and balance.
