Rowena Moonrise

I didn't grow up here. Back in Boston, we had the mountains to the north, and the ocean to the east and south. And to the southwest, of course, the glowing metropolis. The landscapes were either jagged or flat or city, with barely anything in between

So imagine my surprise, one summer evening in Oregon, upon seeing the Columbia River Gorge for the first time at night, lit up by cars and trains zipping by on its shores, towns and factories further up the embankment, and the moon and stars up above. It was a surreal scene, and one of my greatest minor regrets in life is not capturing hours and hours of timelapse footage here.

That's going to change.
