Flirting Machines is a digital art installation conceived by André Oliveira, where a laser projector and a CRT TV connect both physically and conceptually. The work explores the interaction between the digital and the analog, creating a dialogue between two technologies from different eras.
In this installation, the laser projects images, patterns, or signals onto the CRT screen, which responds with its unique visual characteristics, such as its soft glow and ghosting effect, creating a dance of light and shadow. This interaction between the machines generates a kind of visual "flirtation," where each device responds to the other in an organic and almost intimate way, as if they were engaged in a silent conversation.
