Now let me tell you a little bit about myself.

OCOTE (Mexico City, 1979)

Ocote is a type of pine wood, very oily used in Mexico for starting fires. I adopted the name OCOTE to highlight the role that street mural art can play in conveying a message of positive change to people—an artistic spark that ignites the fire of awareness. The murals I create are the result of a research-driven process rooted in drawing, engraving, illustration, and painting.

The common thread in my work is the use of fluorescent colors that allude to a future where technology blends with the ancestral. I envision my murals as invocations to energies of change, seeking to offer viewers a mystical experience that influences their everyday reality. I have been invited to participate in national and international Street Art festivals such as 'Ilústramesta' and the 'HUE Houston Mural Festival 2016,' in addition to having held three solo exhibitions and over 30 group exhibitions.

Currently, I am working in my studio, focusing on experimenting with new tools such as animation, pixel art, artificial intelligence actively participating in the web3 community. My NFT’s have taken my art to exhibitions in Miami, Paris, Dubai, Tokyo and Singapore.
