Zora

Sculpture inspired by my ancestors of the Baga ethnic group in Guinea, it speaks of my roots. Mixing spirituality and culture, this mask draws its source from the animist cults of yesteryear for fertility.
Today, it still has its place, such masks are used in wedding ceremonies. From this ancestral tradition, I have connected the past and the present. If this type of mask is called Nimba, I gave it the name Nimbellus (from my nickname Bellus) to appropriate it in a very contemporary way.

Its place is in the present world. The symbols and practices of the past build me and all of us through their appropriation and evolution over time to open up new horizons.
